Scacchi wwhen innate as Greta Gracco inside Milan, Italy. Her mother was an English dancer and her father was an Italian painter. Greta's parents divorced when she was three. Her mother returned to England by using Greta. Inside 1975, Greta's personal (her mother experienced okay, remarried) moved to Australia.

Within 1977, Scacchi returned to England to pursue an acting career. She exposed at a Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, with Miranda Richardson and Amanda Redman. Inside 1982, Scacchi manufactured her film debut in the German movie Das Zweite Gesicht (The 2nd Face).

Scacchi married actor Vincent D'Onofrio in 1991. A marriage lasted more or less xviii months. A few have a girl Leila. Scacchi too has the boy, Matteo, from either the 1998 relationship by having her first cousin Carlo Mantegazza.
